My manicurist was telling me about a certain kind of Nail Cuticle Infection called paronychia. It was a common hand infection that affects great deal of people. I guess even me. She said that if I do a lot of dish washing, or bite my nails or if I am around a lot of chemical irritants that I am susceptible to the infection. If left untreated it can get pretty gross with the usual redness and swelling but it can progress into an abscess under the cuticle full of pus and turn a nasty yellow green color. She said to soak my hands in anti-bacterial soap in warm water for a bout 15 minutes every day until the redness goes away.
